Week 6 Reflections: Proposals

A week of reflection, taking things apart and putting things back together this week 🙂 My blog may therefore be a little shorter than normal but with a deep topic of focus i.e., reflecting on proposals…in many ways my thinking has been about what place proposals have in the ‘real’ world and how I may use the same structures and tools used to inform research proposals to help with negotiation, influencing strategy and more.

But for now, back to research. Across working on my inclusive society project, and having conversations on an approach for both my final project and data & design in a post-covid city; I’ve started to piece together the key themes, structures and considerations that go into the framing of and delivery of a research proposal. Whilst sometimes daunting, I’ve found that it’s also been an enriching process looking into all the various angles that a project can take before pivoting from the breadth of many angles, into a deep dive into one and then exploring the various loops, corners and perspectives that sit within that. Doing this sort of research and having the scope to define our own research questions within EFI is very much new to me, but has helped me in opening my mind up to different forms of creativity. I look forward to what comes next!
