WEEK 5-7 More Deeper Thought about final project

Hi everyone! This blog is going to discuss some outlooks of my final project.

As time goes by, the direction of my final paper is gradually clear. After completing the exclusion and inequality assignment and further research, I believe that algorithms brought by big data have brought more or less inequality to the world. However, due to the limitation of space, I believe that for the final project, my research will be more in-depth.

The first group supervision made me more clear about the project plan. I’ve been very inspired by comments from JB, after the meeting, I decided to keep the topic I had raised about algorithms and decided to explore a direction with the essay assignment as a test.

Review and outlook of the final project:

There is no doubt that algorithms can ‘cheat’ society, and I have been more inspired by the comments on the last blog. Here, thanks Darcie and Jiayi for commenting on my blog, they provide me with more unequal treatment in life and the job-hunting process. I have a clearer motivation for the feasibility and significance of this project.

In addition, I can also study consumer discrimination and background data monitoring brought by the big data algorithm on the mobile app. While bringing some convenience to consumers, sometimes they will also receive the annoyance of being monitored. From short videos, to AD feeds, to online shopping, is it a good thing for software to ‘see through ‘ one’s mind?

The next step:

More literature needs to be read in the following time;

From macro national policies to micro corporate governance, which need to be discussed.
