Week 6

Hi everyone, I hope everyone had a great week in the past week 6!

I finished my Exclusive and Inequity final paper during the past week. I really enjoy the process that make my paper perfect! I mainly focus on the economic globalization in my paper. During the process searching materials, I learnt a lot, such as reconsider the reasons and types of inequities in the economic globalization.

I also began to think about problems from the perspective of globalization, and I began to understand that a country’s policy change would have a global impact. And economic money is moving around the world. There’s also some inequality in the flow, and that’s what we’re going to focus on in this class.

I hope this week I can finish all my lists while fully getting rested!

Hi Gen! Sounds like you’ve had a lot of competing pressures on your time. I hope you’ve managed to carve out some space for yourself again.

Where are you at in terms of project topic development? Are you still thinking about data analysis in social media? Have you been able to pin down a more specific set of questions or cases? When choosing a specific topic, it sometimes helps to think about what specific methods you would use. For instance, analysing metadata or doing some scraping of social media sites will allow you to say something different than, say, interviewing social media users or content creators about their experiences on platforms and the algorithmic pressures they might face. Think about your skill set and what you could feasibly do, what skills you think you’ll be able to gain in the coming months, and most importantly what is most inspiring to you!
