Week 6 – 7 day weeks it is
Hi everyone,
hope you had a good week & are getting on well with the course content. Personally the week is definitely feeling like it must have been 2 already (haha), but I am fighting through 🙂 Maybe it’s the fact I am doing 7 days a week at the moment to prepare for a big event we have at work, my intensives coming up and getting my assingments done, but despite of how that might sound I am really enjoying my week so far and I am looking forward to the upcoming Intensives 🙂
What new input have I gotten this week?
My course on Datafication, Accountability and Democracy sparked really interesting conversations and I love that I was able to see the parallels to other modules and even incorporate these new insights into a potential idea for a PhD. For which, by the way, I need to write a proposal as soon as I can (anyone wish they could stop time to finally tick off their endless to-do lists?). Even when I was reading one of the books for the course, I put in a wee stick note saying “I am really impressed how far I have come” since a year ago I learnred how to use Google Analytics for Marketing purposes and now only a year later I get to discuss this use of data on a much deeper level and I am very grateful for that.
Furthermore, I have gotten interesting new input from the video we watched in Interdisciplinary Futures and Leanne might even be able to set me up with a friend who visualises physics quite a lot – something I am super passionate about. This really shows that we are here to learn, but also to build a network from which we can profit hopefully 🙂 Equally, I am trying to help another friend with her final project since it might be of interet to my work at the Pregnancy and Parents Centre. Maybe I can help her get a collabroation going? Shall see 🙂
What other input have I gotten this week? I had a really lovely conversation with some uni mates after the coding class and it was truely inspiring to listen to what their plans are for after this degree. This is certainly a question I need to ask myself a little more (content for another KIPP blog I’d say), but it also reminded me how much I love research and academia and in this case I might as well try my best to get into a PhD – if it works out or if it doesn’t 🙂
That’s all for this week. Excited to see what inspiration I get next week and how that might contribute to my ideas for my final project.
Kind regards x

Kassandra, if you are passionate about physics and the idea of stopping time, please please make this your PhD project!! ; ) You’ve got so many balls in the air and your diversity of interest squarely sets you in the world of Interdisciplinary. What’s your next step for working on /fine tuning your proposal?
