My Blog- Week 1

The change in my attitude

When I know I have to write a blog on the sharing platform, I felt nervous because I haven’t done such a thing as keeping a diary and even it would be shown to my teachers and classmates, although my major in my undergraduate is about social media.

But I feel excited now. I think sharing what I have learned is an amazing experience so I am looking forward to interacting, discussing with you. I hope that we can get new inspiration during the process.

My Motivation and Plans

As a member of the“Data, Inequality and Society” Programme, I am looking forward to three parts. Firstly, it will teach us some fundamental data analysis skills, which is important in this Digital Age. Secondly, it will help me to build the concept of the Future and the method of predicting futures.

Thirdly, it gives me the chance to develop critical perspectives on society. I want to further insight into social inequality and contradiction and do more reading about it. During my undergraduate, I shoot three micro-films, including a documentary and feature films, which are about myself or my classmates. I hope that I will express inequality in society by camera and video after finishing this “Data, Inequality and Society” Programme. In addition, I hope I will express my thoughts about my readings or raise some questions to discuss with you.

OK, that’s all I have this week!

Hello, nice to meet you! As part of the ‘light reading’ for our upcoming Exclusion and Inequality intensives, I have just watched a short video on wealth inequality. I was surprised to find how much I took away from a video of less than 4 min and love the idea of your hopes to express inequality in society by camera and video. I think it’s a powerful medium for storytelling in many ways!
