James Dixon – Writer
J. D. Dixon was born in London in 1990. He first studied English literature and history at Goldsmiths College, University of London, before moving on to study philosophy with the Open University. He published his first novel, The unrivalled transcendence of Willem J. Gyle with Thistle Publishing in 2017. It was shortlisted by the Society of Authors for the 2018 Somerset Maugham Award, amongst other accolades.
Daniel Orejon – Director
Daniel is an actor and theatre-maker based in Edinburgh. His directing work includes ‘The Things We Carry’, commissioned by the Edinburgh Multilingual Stories Festival, as well as Family Storytime’s ‘Captain Brave’, which debuted at the Merchant City Festival before a short tour around Glasgow.
Sheila Robertson – Artist
Sheila Robertson attended the Glasgow School of Art (Drawing and Painting) and currently lives and works in the North West Highlands. Her work is mainly studio based working with oil on canvas but also varied mixed media.
Leonora Cooke
Leonora is an actor, writer and theatre maker. She graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2018 and is a founding member of theatre company Cup of Brew Productions. Her theatre credits include Antony and Cleopatra (Bard in the Botanics), Splendour and Titus Andronicus (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), Alan and Bennett (Camden Fringe and Edinburgh Festival Fringe) and Richard II (Bronzehead Theatre tour). Leonora is delighted to be joining the ‘It’s My Turn!’ company.
Palden Darvish
Palden is a performer and musician who occasionally writes sentences in a detached “third person” perspective to make himself sound more important than he actually is. He trained with a group called The Nomadic Academy for Fools.
Lewis Lauder
Lewis is an actor and musician from Falkirk. Currently studying for an MFA in Playwriting, Lewis is very excited to take part in the Edinburgh Science Festival.
Debi Pirrie
Debi is an Edinburgh based performer and, although not her first experience of Theatre in Education, it is her first experience with Edinburgh International Science Festival. Since graduating from Napier and Queen Margaret Universities with a BA Hons in Acting for Stage and Screen Debi has been working predominantly with grassroots theatre companies such as Twelve Twelve Theatre and StoryBoard Theatre as well as performing sketch and stand-up comedy. She is currently working on adding ‘Illustrator’ to her skill set.
Amelia Watson
Amelia is studying Acting and English at university and spends a lot of time working with Bedlam Theatre and Theatre Paradok. Amelia performed in 2018’s Fringe Festival with original writing called ‘Plenty of Linguine at Home’ and will be at this year’s fringe with another new piece of writing called ‘Going Slightly Mad’. In her spare time, Amelia loves to go to art exhibitions, spend time with her family or to watch a good concert.
