đŁ Upcoming Talk: Fault Lines in the Conflicting Views of Early Islam
Location: Cairo, Egypt
Delivered by our colleague Dr. Andreas Görke Islamic & Middle Eastern Studies, University of Edinburgh
The early Islamic period remains one of the most debated and fascinating chapters in Islamic history. Conflicting interpretations of events during the first century and a half after the Prophet Muhammadâs mission continue to shape discussions and divisions today.
Join us as we explore key questions that have stirred scholars and communities for centuries:
â Did the Prophet Muhammad appoint a successor?
â How and when did the Qurâan emerge and reach its final form?
â Can we rely on the hadiths as accurate records of the Prophetâs sayings and actions?
â What can we really know about the Prophetâs character?
In this thought-provoking lecture, Dr. Andreas will examine where these differing perspectives originate â and whether reconciliation between them is possible.
đïž Speaker: Dr. Andreas Görke
