History of Science and Medicine in Edinburgh – A network for collaborative research and teaching

The network for History of Science and Medicine in Edinburgh (HoSMEd) brings together a large interdisciplinary community of researchers and curators engaged in historical studies in science, technology and medicine.

It includes people from a wide range of university departments (Archaeology; Edinburgh College of Art; Geography; History; Science, Technology and Innovation Studies; Veterinary Medicine; the Medical School), and from many local collections and libraries (the National Museum of Scotland, the Lothian Health Archive, the Cockburn Geological Museum, the Instrument Museums’ collection, the Anatomical Museum, the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh).

We meet regularly to develop collaborative research and teaching projects. Please email j.bangham@ed.ac.uk to join.
