On the Failures of Technology

Have you ever had technology let you down at a key moment? Or maybe you’ve been incapacitated when the WiFi went down simply because your laptop became nothing more than a lump of glass and plastic? This has definitely happened to me before, and maybe it’s just me not being very tech savvy but whenever this happens I think how reliable books can be.

I’ve never had to wait for a book to load, or realise that only 7 people can download it at a time, or had the realisation that it’s only got 8% left with 45 minutes left in a lecture. No, books are just there, conveniently found in the SRR cataloguing system, never excluding people for not having a subscription, and not abandoning me at key moments in my research.

Maybe this is my moment to use books more often, maybe this is your call to do the same and to use the SRR to do so. Happy reading!
