Valentine’s Day Collection

After the success of the Christmas display, the intrepid archaeology collection volunteers, Eve and Emiley, are back with another eye-catching display. This time, it’s Valentine’s Day themed!

Coming up with a Valentine’s-themed archaeology display was a bit of a struggle, but we decided to go with advertising some of our lovely books through dating app profiles! A lot of the archaeology collection doesn’t often get taken out from the SRR, so this is a great opportunity to have a look at what we have on offer.

We also have a few books themed around love. The book ‘Convict Love Tokens’ features a collection of tokens given by convicts who were being transported from England to Australia, as a way for their loved ones to remember them. There is also a book with pictures from Pompeii, where we can see friezes and mosaics of couples and romantic scenes from the Roman times.

If you’re feeling lonely this Valentine’s Day, why not come to the SRR and have a hot date with one of our books? There are options for everyone!
