(Almost) packed and ready!

So this evening has been spent packing the suitcase! In typical me fashion, I have probably packed too much!

I have my Lonely Planet pocket guides purchased and going to act as reading on the plane!

Connecting flights and accommodation booked. Conference poster and concurrent session slides in hand!

Last-minute nerves are kicking in. This is the furthest I have ever traveled. And while I’m used to traveling on my own, I’m nervous I might get a bit lonely. Thankfully my fellow Florence Scholars are only a WhatsApp message away! While I have contacts and some visits arranged, I’ve been so busy starting my new job and writing up my PhD that I feel my organisation and planning have lacked my usual gusto. So I’m hoping that I get to see what I need to and that I’m not too much of a burden for my lovely Aussie hosts!

I better get to bed- I’m up in 5 hours to head to Edinburgh Airport! Next stop Sydney (via Doha!)
