Welcome to ECA Immersive

ECA Immersive showcases Edinburgh College of Art’s expanding research and creative practice in immersive, XR, and virtual technologies.

From virtual production and interactive environments to real-time performance, our work explores how emerging technologies are reshaping creative practice, collaboration and storytelling.

Here you’ll find information on:

  • Projects: From flagship R&D programmes like the CoSTAR Network to collaborations with industry partners, we’re involved in a mix of large-scale and experimental work.
  • Funding and Collaboration: We’ll share details of open funding calls from our programmes and partners.
  • The ECA Immersive Workshop: Based at First Stage Studios, the CoSTAR Realtime ECA Immersive Workshop is a space for experimentation. Explore the facilities, view some recent projects and find out how you can get involved.
  • Events: We’ll be sharing opportunities to engage with our programmes and find about more about our work.
