Tammy Yi | Social justice and ensemble success

Tammy has shared the article “Social justice and ensemble success: implementing alternative seating practices”, which was published in American String Teacher last November.

Social Justice and Ensemble Success

 

Tammy S. Yi is an assistant professor of music education at Chapman University. She received her EdD in music and music education from Columbia University, and her MA in music from the University of Southern California. Prior to her appointment at Chapman, she was the violin and conducting instructor at Columbia University, conductor of the Manhattan School of Music Precollege Orchestras, and assistant professor of music education at the University of Arizona, while also serving as conductor of the UA Philharmonic. Dr. Yi publishes on social justice, string education, and orchestral conducting research. She also continues to perform professionally as an international conductor.
