D-RES Project

Use case – Orkney

The D-RES Project currently uses the Orkney Islands in the North of Scotland as a case study – in particular Stromness and Kirkwall as case studies due to the windy weather conditions of the Orkney islands coupled with relatively high penetration of EVs and EV chargers  as a result of previous research projects that took place in this location such as UKRI ReFLEX and EPSRC DISPATCH. The University of Edinburgh used Orkney as a case study multiple times in other projects which eased data sharing and model sharing between different projects.

We are keen to expand our case studies. Please get in touch to discuss the details.
