- Email from Head of school addressed to Sophia and Niamh
- Conversation about having course as level 10
- Sophia W. doesn’t want to bring that as teachers but wants the whole group effort to be included
- What should we respond?
- We could have been more demonstrative last week and take the opportunity rather than discussing the theory a lot
- We haven’t really showed anything of what we do
- Assumption that we are different from other students: we don’t have pb of non-attending, really motivated… So that other students don’t want to be at uni
- Response that they already have the structures here (ex. SLIC) is out of the point
- We could meet again with a different strategy
- They shouldn’t push back so much about they do, they didn’t have anything to ‘take away’ from us anyway. It can still enrich other people.
- We can actually use these opportunities to spread the idea step by step as it is still radical for them what we do
- It is rare to get these opportunities and we lost the criticality that we planned to have before
- We could reflect on that in the email? And invite them for another session?
- “Upon reflection: …”
- Is email the best way to engage? Is it getting suck in bureaucracy again?
- Are these just sucking up our energy? Are we too optimistic about what we can get out of it?
- We don’t have a perfect version of the course to present to them anyway
- Sometimes it is not fruitful immediately anyway
- We need to start conversation about level 10 course soon anyway
- It is difficult to find a way to actually engage them and make them act.
- We could rather invite them to talk about concrete points
- Such as level 10 course
- Proposal: Bureaucracy group to talk to them about casualisation
