Research philosophy and ethics

I hold the view science is not just a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions but it is also a tool to gain socio-economic values so that, for me, the traits of a good scientist are open-mindedness, collaboration and inclusion. I think that this is particularly true for my field of research that investigates the direct effects of man-driven climate change on ecosystems. I see it as an absolute necessity to provide not only knowledge but also to propose active solutions, such as conservation plans and connections with stakeholders. I was able to contribute to international research projects and have therefore created collaborative global network that links me to researchers sharing the same passion around the globe. I characterise my relationship with other researchers as highly productive and appreciate the special benefits of a very friendly and supportive working background.
