My Stuff:

Back to my Staff profile – boring but official!

WhoCares – my current job and a very important project on Disabled Researchers and how they are supported at university (nor not?)

My Linkedin – just because…

(Not my but cool) Research:

A cross-linguistic comparison of reference across five signed languages

Human Error Perspectives in Aviation

BSL:

Commanding Hands – Excellent BSL resource, lots of videos

Leanne’s Signed Stories – more for kids and more SSE than BSL, but so cute!

British Sign Language Dictionary – Exactly what you think it is.

Planes!:

Mentour Pilot – ignore the video titles, the content is very nerdy but in a very accessible way

The Aviation Safety Network – very good incident tracker

H&S, rescue and First Aid stuff:

First Aid Training Cooperative – excellent source for all your first aid training needs,  UK wide, including expeditions. Run as a cooperative. (ask me before you email them, might be able to get you a discount…)

Scottish Cave Rescue Organisation – we what it says on the tin. Or practise for it.

Scottish Mountain Rescue – Ditto, but with more daylight and snow.

International Red Cross – To Henry Dunant: “To help without asking whom”. I served in the German branch for years when I was younger, always worth a look.

HeroRats – Yes, really! These rats look for unexploded landmines and save lives detecting TB. And they are cute.

ND people to follow:

NeuroWild –  more geared towards children and largely communicated through cartoons. Very worth having a look!

Braille:

RNIB – Royal National Institute of Blind People, not to be confused with the also great RNLI. Great website with information about Braille but also many other technologies.

Sight Scotland – What is Braille? Really nice short page on the history of Braille and how it works.

The Braille Chess Association –  Despite the name, this is really not so much about Braille, but tactile chess. Yes, you can play chess without or with low vision.

Mines!:

Nenthead Mines – Come see the world’s prettiest mines! (Okay, I’m a trustee so I may be biased…) Nenthead Mines is one of the largest and best preserved mineral mines in the UK. Nestled in the North Pennines, near Alston, it’s pretty above ground, too.

The National Association of Mining History Organisations – That’s where we meet to talk about mines!
