We are an open group that encourages membership from across the university and beyond.

We welcome enquiries from private companies, creative practitioners, and media and heritage organisations who are interested in evidence-based consultancy on any aspect of reconstructing the past. We have worked with Historic Environment Scotland, the Science Museum, History Hit, Comrie Croft, Archaeo Build and many others, including individuals writers and artists,  small arts organisations and charities on a pro bono basis.

Academic colleagues outside the University of Edinburgh are welcome to apply for our Visiting Scholars Scheme if they wish to work in our historical reconstruction lab; there are modest costs involved to cover administrative expenses and any necessary materials.
