A stream on Spittal beach, Northumberland which runs from an disused coal mine. It leaves an ochre sediment on anything it touches. I have been reading about the environmental affect of this – it stops aquatic life and plants living in the stream but it also traps Selenium (is used in nanotechnology/health supplement) which if not trapped would have a more serious toxic affect to life. I am using water/sediment collected from this stream in my tank/slow leak that forms an element of my masters installation.
