Validation Evidence on the WHO Ageism Scale

Validation Evidence on the WHO Ageism Scale

This blog presents completed, ongoing, and planned research on the WHO Ageism Experiences Scale and the WHO Ageism Towards Older Persons Scale.

Welcome to the Global Ageism Scale Validation Repository!

Who We Are and What We Do

We are an interdisciplinary consortium comprising scholars, practitioners, and stakeholders dedicated to advancing empirical research on ageism globally. Our initiative centres on the WHO Ageism Scale, which consists of two core instruments: the WHO Ageism Experiences Scale and the WHO Ageism Towards Older Persons Scale. For comprehensive details, please refer to the WHO Ageism Scale Manual and User Guide [LINK].

To examine the scale’s validty and reliability across diverse populations, as well as enhance our understanding of ageism, we are validating the WHO Ageism Scale across diverse global contexts. This site serves as a platform for sharing preliminary evidence from these validation efforts and facilitating discussions on key issues related to ageism research.

What Our Website Offers

Here, you will find a comprehensive repository of validation studies conducted in collaboration with research teams, institutions, and organisations across multiple countries and places. This site details the validation progress of the WHO Ageism Scale, including:

  • Summary of completed, ongoing, and planned (under discussion) studies
  • Key details about the validation study, such as country, language, and sample characteristics
  • Psychometric evidence on the scale’s reliability and validity.

We aim for this site to offer comprehensive information on the validation of the WHO Ageism Scale. Through collective efforts, we can enhance awareness, inform policy-making, and promote inclusivity across all age groups. For any enquiries or further details, please contact us [EMAIL].
