Week 11: Practical research – Scheduling – Gurl Dinner: Timetables and Dining Tables

This was the last meeting before Gurrl Dinner, occurring 5 days prior to Sunday, the 6th of April, where we discussed the final details that we would have to complete in advance of the event as well as a timetable to shape how the evening should progress.

Scheduling

First, we ensured that each of the ‘courses’ was able to be completed, confirming that we had all the materials to complete each step of the evening. From this point we were able to develop a schedule of events, bearing in mind the individual availability of all the organizers on the 6th of April.

14:45—Kate and Harry move decorative materials into the gallery.

15:00 – Kate and Harry clean the space, moving desks to create a dining table configuration as well as doing general cleaning.

15:30 – Kate and Harry begin making the table scape and other spatial decorations.

16:00 – Sarah and Kate set up drawing materials for the ‘Get Stuffed’ event, taping paper onto the walls.

16:00 – Emily and Harry clean glasses and set up the area for participants to get drinks.

16:15–17:30—Free time.

17:30 – San Zhang arrives to rehearse the Lobster in a China Shop performance.

18:00 – Clean space for any leftover materials.

18:30 – Participants arrive.

19:00 – Lobster in a China Shop Performance.

19:15 – Get Stuffed Drawing Activity.

19:35 – Theoretical Fruit Salad.

19:45 – Event end.
