In the past few years, I always asked myself: what is it that you truly desire? Unfortunately, I still haven’t answered the question…I’ve tried several different things to find my passion. I worked in a hotel when I was interested in hospitality management, interned at a publisher when I’d like to be an editor, and also worked as a research assistant when I had plans to continue exploring a certain field of study. However, after a while, I lost my enthusiasm.
Someone suggested that maybe I should try to get new experiences and ideas in a different cultural context. Thus, about 50% of my own interests, 40% of others’ advice and 10% of coincidences constitute my reason for coming to this major.
While I may not regard this major as the definitive answer to my question, I suppose it would give me some different directions and approaches to make the answer.
