On March 23rd at Summerhall, we continued discussing the remaining students’ proposals. Since my own proposal was among them, I took more detailed notes on my ideas.
Regarding the choice of artists, I should select those whose fees are more affordable and, ideally, have a connection to my chosen site—Yudong Village. As for the exhibition space, my initial plan to use the entire village was too ambitious, both financially and in terms of its impact on the local community. Scaling down the scope will be more practical and beneficial for my curatorial plan.
Additionally, while traditional stove paintings are a key element, I need to explore how contemporary art can create a meaningful dialogue with them, particularly through younger artists. This requires further consideration.
For the activities held in the main hall, I need to determine who will take the lead—whether it should be me or an invited artist. This is an important question to explore.
Finally, given the rural nature of this project, I should consider engaging with government agencies for potential support. Researching relevant policies and funding opportunities will be crucial.
