Whilst I have some academic experience in philosophy and ethics, I admit that the world of modern technology is somewhat of a mystery to me. I expect the digital knowledge I’ll gain over the next few weeks will help establish the focus of my final project, which I’ll define in due course. For now, I’m just brainstorming.
The result of my first brainstorming session is below. I’ll let the mind map do most of the talking.

As you can see, potential focus areas are represented by clouds, whilst various aspects of my experience, future ambitions and some general tips have been captured in the sticky notes. Each item has also been given a colour-coded category, which I then used to rework the mind map into a more structured format.

A category that stands out is political intervention, which has multiple crossovers with sustainability and economics. I would like to bring all three aspects together in my final project, so I’ll most likely rule out any ideas which don’t cross over into each of these areas (e.g. data rights).

As of now, I haven’t settled on any concrete ideas, and I’m keeping my options open until I get to grips with the technical side of the course, but this exercise has definitely clarified where my interests lie, and I’m excited to see where the project leads.
