The Evolution of My Project Plan
At the beginning of the program, my interests were broad. I wanted to explore land management, sustainability, and community resilience, but I struggled to narrow my focus. As I progressed through courses like Understanding the Climate Crisis, Land, Community, and Power, and Regenerating Places, I started seeing patterns emerge—land use and governance were deeply intertwined with economic, environmental, and social resilience.
Through coursework and discussions with peers and faculty, I refined my research question, eventually leading to my project: Community-Driven Land Management for Resilience and Climate Adaptation in the Caribbean. This shift from a general interest in land sustainability to a focused study on community engagement and adaptive land use policies was a direct result of my learning experiences throughout the program.
