Individual Development and Adversities
A significant transformation in my perspective has been the realization that the future is not a passive occurrence; rather, it is an entity we actively construct. This insight has transformed my approach to research. I now investigate how participatory governance and new land management tactics could influence the Caribbean’s land use landscape in the forthcoming years, rather than concentrating exclusively on existing policies.
However, akin to every scientific endeavor, problems arise. Involving communities in discussions regarding the future can be challenging, particularly when pressing issues such as economic stability and climate dangers appear more urgent. Nonetheless, I perceive this as an opportunity to demonstrate that future planning is not distinct from current concerns, but rather an essential instrument for properly addressing them.
