Spring Bud
I’ve consulted the relevant reports and materials of the Spring Bud Project before and found that the project has developed so well that it has made many contributions and exerted great influence in the field of supporting women’s education in remote areas.
Over the past 35 years, the project has been continuously transformed, upgraded and innovated, responding to the diverse development needs of girls in adolescent education, mental health and rights protection in a timely manner. While continuing to provide subsidies for the study and living expenses of girls in need and doing a good job in supporting students at different stages, various forms of educational support have been carried out around girls’ education, girls’ safety and girls’ health.
By providing practical technical and digital skills training for girls, holding theme classes and growth camps, creating a friendly space for girls to grow up, providing adolescent education and psychological counseling, the project has made great efforts to improve girls’ comprehensive literacy level, and taken various measures to empower girls to grow up healthy and develop in an all-round way, which has made positive contributions to promoting the development of girls’ and women’s education in China. The scope of aid has expanded from compulsory education to high school and university, and the scope of the project has extended to the fields of teacher training in Spring Bud, vocational education for girls, girl protection, adolescent guardianship, family companionship for left-behind girls and so on.
In the first 10 years, the project will focus on helping poor girls to complete their compulsory education, and on providing practical technical training for older girls.
In the second decade, on the basis of the first phase, the construction of Chunlei School was started, and the social coverage of the project was further expanded.
In the third decade, combined with the new needs of girls, the scope of aid will be extended to senior high schools and universities, and the training of teachers for spring buds, vocational education for girls, girl protection, adolescent guardianship, and family companionship for left-behind girls will be started.
It really inspired me a lot and I will look for more materials for my project.
