About my proposal

Curatorial Objective:

  • Raise Public Awareness: to increase public awareness of homelessness as a social issue, including its causes, impacts, and challenges faced by homeless people.
  • Inspire public action: to encourage visitors to get involved in solving the problem of homelessness, whether through donations, volunteering or supporting relevant policy changes.
  • Showcasing solutions in multiple ways: presenting and showcasing examples of innovative solutions and practices to reduce homelessness.

Curatorial Concept:

  • Humanised Presentation: Through the artists’ perspectives and creations, the living conditions of the homeless are presented in a humanised way, breaking through the abstraction behind the figures and reports, and touching the hearts of the people.
  • Multiple perspectives: Combining works from different artists, genres and media, the exhibition explores the issue of homelessness from multiple perspectives, including social, economic, psychological and political factors.
  • Interactive Participation: Design interactive exhibition elements, such as on-site installations, audience participation art projects, etc., so that the audience can gain a deeper understanding of the situation of the homeless through experience.

(one of my ideal curatorial approaches:invisible people)

About my proposal:

  • Have a certain social impact: the curatorial exhibition can serve as a platform to promote social concern and discussion on the issue of homelessness, promote social sympathy and understanding, as well as inspire actions and innovations from all sectors of the community towards solving the problem, and demonstrate the important role of art in social change.
  • Educational value: Provide the public with an opportunity to learn about the issue of homelessness and enhance their sense of social responsibility and civic awareness.
  • Artistic innovation: encourage artists to explore and experiment with new forms of expression and themes, and promote innovation and development in the art world. (Through photography and interviews, I would like to document the daily lives of the homeless and the reasons why they become homeless.)
  • Promote all kinds of collaborations: curatorial projects can facilitate collaborations between arts organisations and social service organisations, government departments and non-profit organisations to find and promote solutions together. (CAIR Scotland)
