Week7

This week we started the detail drawing selection.

I struggled with the location as my main space is not yet designed,

but in talking with Amber I came to understand what I wanted to design

and how it should be structured to support the materials I wanted to use.

So I would know if the materials were appropriate

and if I needed to change them to get a better result.

First, we confirmed the first detail together,

which was the detail of the installation of the glass enclosure

in the floor slab on the second floor terrace in the main space.

Two other details one is a detail of the curtain wall mounted on the floor

and the other is a motorized swivel for hanging clothes under the floor slab.

Here are the initial thoughts on the details,

for the materials for detail 2 my initial thoughts were translucent frosted glass,

but Amber and Andy both mentioned the fixing of the glass curtain wall,

followed by Monday Ed. who mentioned the budgetary issues,

the use of glass adds to the budget.

So I’ll keep trying the right materials.
