As I walked through a shopping mall in Chengdu, I was genuinely delighted by the combination of plants and shops. Full of vibrant atmosphere and people enjoying the moment. So I became curious about the influence of plants on environmental design. At first, I was just surprised by the sense of atmosphere. People can go out in their slippers and play in the pool, and this is supposed to be a mall.

Walking around later, I started thinking about the relationship between the business community and the park. What is associated with it is the relationship between man and nature, man and ecology. Why are residents attracted to such a design, and what advantages can a leafy business center bring to people?

Then I went to the Zhongxin Bookstore on Xinglong Lake. the design concept of the bookstore is “a book falling from the sky”. In my understanding, this is a dialogue between architecture and nature. Because part of the bookstore is underwater. I can see the underwater story through the glass: fish and water plants, lights, and water surfaces. In the dialogue with nature to explore the inner world, return to the most primitive perception.

In the bookshop, I read the book Indoor Green, Living With Plants. In the content described in the book, I saw the story of harmonious coexistence between people and plants.

I was very inspired by the content of the book. It is difficult to describe the resonance in words, but I could feel the emotion and power of plants through the words of these artists, which encouraged me deeply. This is part of what I chose.
