About Me

I am currently in Year 3 of the BA (Hons) Sculpture programme at ECA.

My work is foremost concerned with communication and perception. Through sonic, spatial and pictorial practice; I construct shifting narratives by processes of improvisation and assemblage. My research deals with notions of the archive and of infrastructure, interested in how these concepts shape experiences of memory and time, ultimately as forms of power.

Works are developed through my interest in the divisions and integration of different artistic fields such as music, cinema, writing and visual art.

The installation form is considered both a theatrical device and a mode of self-publishing, where material is explored pan-contextually. Mediums, tonalities, styles and functions are encouraged to occur ‘as’, in place of, or in spite of, one another.

This engagement with the performative stems from my position on the role of the artist as the adoption of a moniker; a persona which operates fundamentally from a place of radical civic responsibility. The duty of the artist, I argue, is to work foremost in the service of both the personal and the social imagination – consistently seeking to develop an aesthetic context from which discourse on matters of cultural, philosophical and spiritual concern may emerge.

I live & work in Scotland, Europe. My pronouns are They/Them.

About This Blog

This blog will mostly be populated with content related to my studies on Art Practice 3, Artistic Research courses and Presentation, Methods & Contexts.

This year I am also studying ‘What is the Commons? Participation, Objects & Place in Contemporary Art’ in the Visual Cultures Dept for Semester 1. There may be material relevant to that class and where it intersects with my practice posted from time to time.

You can find my posts on the Material page. The image currently featured on the Homepage is:
