Work Package 3: Technical application
In this work package, I have received training for the operation of Raman Microscope, XploRa PLUS (HORIBA). XploRa PLUS was adjusted to high-pressure measurements using Raman spectra of H2O ice collected at pressure between 2-24 GPa (Fig. 8). The spectroradiometric optics for in-situ temperature measurement was calibrated using NIST lamp for the new IHDAC experiments. In order to test reliability of the new IHDAC installed in the optics, I conducted phase equilibrium experiments in the system Al2O3-SiO2 at P = 13.5 GPa, T = 1800 K. The x-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements were carried out at a synchrotron radiation facility PETRA III in Germany. The collected XRD pattern indicates formation of Kyanite, which is consistent with the previous reports. This further verifies the reliability of temperature measurement using the calibrated optics.
