Welcome to the Researching Intercultural Communication and Identity Blog

Welcome to the Intercultural Language Learner Identity blog, curated by Dr. Maryam Almohammad. This platform showcases the creative work of students, such as collaborative filmmaking projects, developed during our course. The blog provides a space for students to express their voices and present their individual essay projects to a global audience.

In this course, students critically analyze a range of historical and theoretical perspectives on identity and interculturality. They engage with issues such as identity, multiculturalism, diversity, minority education, creative pedagogies, social media, and critical issues of othering, racism, xenophobia, nationalism, sexism, and injustice, exploring their societal impacts. Students exercise autonomy in planning their research, individual and collaborative projects, applying creative, art-based methods to enhance the criticism and employment of intercultural and symbolic representation in education and society.

Our blog aims to capture students’ innovative work while adhering to ethical standards.
