DICE Desktop Upgrades

During the summer of 2023 all the student lab machines were upgraded from Ubuntu 20.04 (Focal Fossa) to 22.04 (Jammy Jellyfish). Since then the Computing Team has been busy upgrading the user-accessible servers to the same platform. To ensure the ongoing security of our systems and provide a consistent environment for all users, we now need to upgrade all remaining DICE desktops. Over the next few months everyone with a DICE desktop will be contacted by the Support Team to arrange a convenient date for the upgrade. If you would like to have your desktop upgraded sooner please contact the Support Team who will be happy to help. We understand that these upgrades can be disruptive so we will be as accommodating as possible but the work is essential.
