Easy MFA with authenticator.cc
authenticator.cc is a handy way to generate MFA codes – those numbers that are sometimes demanded by Microsoft online services such as Teams, email and SharePoint. It’s a web browser extension, and it works with Firefox, Google Chrome, or Microsoft Edge. It gives you a button on your browser which, when you click it, generates the 6 figure code for you, and pops it up ready for you to copy. It could hardly be easier to use.
This could be handy for anyone affected by the withdrawal of Authy desktop, or anyone who’d rather not use their phone for University business.
To help you get up and running, our colleagues in Information Services have written instructions for using authenticator.cc as a sign-in method.
That page gives you a choice of either brief instructions or full instructions including images. If you get stuck with the brief instructions, try the full instructions. They show you what to do at every step of the process.
It also explains how to migrate from Authy, if you were an Authy user.
