homepages.inf.ed.ac.uk move
The hardware that hosts the homepages.inf.ed.ac.uk web service is rather old in the tooth. A new machine is ready to take over, and I plan to do this on Tuesday 6th of March at 10am.
There should only be a brief break in service of less than a minute, but the service should be considered at risk between 10am and 10:30am.
Once this is done, the next thing on the to do list is to update the underlying Operating System from the previous DICE Scientific Linux environment to the current Ubuntu one. However this will be a bigger change, and is still some weeks away. There will be another announcement nearer the time.
