They Just Won’t Leave Me Alone”: Stalking in Young People’s Lives

Free webinar on stalking and young people with particular focus on the growing impact of technology‑facilitated abuse.

“They Just Won’t Leave Me Alone”: Stalking in Young People’s Lives, held as part of National Stalking Awareness Week 2026.

A webinar on 22nd April, from 10:00–12:00, featuring a range of insightful speakers discussing this important and timely topic.

Hosted by the Glasgow Violence Against Women Partnership, this session will explore young people’s experiences of stalking, with a particular focus on the growing impact of technology‑facilitated abuse.

Together, we will deepen our understanding of:

  • the risks young people face,
  • the needs of those experiencing stalking,
  • effective approaches to risk assessment, and
  • the vital role of preventative education.

This event aims to strengthen multi‑agency collaboration, enhance awareness of both in‑person and digital forms of stalking, and support safer outcomes for young people across our communities.

Move for Your Mind: Active Lives

To support Stress Awareness month, Active Lives are running a Move for Your Mind campaign in AprilThe initiative offers a programme of free, inclusive, and social physical activity sessions designed to help students and staff get active, improve wellbeing, and connect with others during a busy point in the academic year.

The longer, brighter, and warmer days are close. The programme offers a mix of relaxed activities such as social runs, walks, and recreational sports, all delivered in accessible outdoor locations across campus. Sessions are open to all abilities and focus on enjoyment, movement, and social connection rather than performance.

Through simple, consistent messaging move more, feel better the campaign aims to encourage participation, raise awareness of Active Lives, and position physical activity as an easy and effective way to support mental wellbeing.

Starting on 6th April, all sessions will be available to book via the MyEd link below.

We would greatly appreciate your support in promoting these opportunities to students and staff across the university, particularly those who will be remaining in Edinburgh over the Easter period.

The University of Edinburgh’s Senate Quality Assurance Committee (SQAC) is currently undertaking a Thematic Review of student-facing services to better understand how they support and impact LGBTQ+ students. Student consultation is a key part of this work, and we are now inviting students to sign up to take part in consultation sessions where they can share their experiences and suggestions. Student input will directly inform recommendations to improve services and support for LGBTQ+ students across the University. Participation is voluntary, and students may share as much or as little as they feel comfortable.
