Catherine Johnston – Student Experience Officer
I started this role 2 years ago and am really enjoying it. I love planning events and activities and seeing our community grow. My favourite part is seeing people try new things throughout the year at our clubs and big events like the ceilidh.

I have been working in the School of Health in Social Science since 2023. I graduated from Edinburgh University of Edinburgh myself in 2021 with a PGDE in Secondary School Education. I have a wide variety of other work experiences and skills that I use to help enhance the experience of all students in our school as well as provide additional help to the student support team.
Ember – School Mascot
Hello! I am Ember, the school mascot. I was voted into the role by students in 2024 who also gave me my name, which I love! I enjoy attending all our events and seeing the staff and students of the school. My favourite is graduation, when everyone is dressed up and celebrating all their achievements.
