Cultural Heritage Micro-Conference 19th June 2025

Are you a member of academic staff or a research student in any topical or disciplinary field?

Does your work contribute to new thinking about or through cultural heritage?

Are you interested in sharing your work, and hearing about the work of others?

On 19th June, the CAHSS Cultural Heritage Research Theme are delighted to invite you to contribute to a micro-symposium exploring the breadth and innovation of cultural heritage research across the University of Edinburgh.

This day will be designed to provide the opportunity to share your work through the form of 10 minute ‘lighting talks’ and informal networking on the day. This event will be on campus and in person only, although we shall record talks, and invite those who can’t join us to share their work through posters.

We invite you to submit, by 1200 30th May:

  • a title
  • 200-word abstract
  • 4 keywords
  • 50-word biography
  • 1 image as an A5 portrait PDF, 72 DPI that illustrates an aspect of your research that can be displayed alongside your abstract on our website.
  • If you wish to also submit a poster please provide this in PDF A3 portrait format, 300 DPI.

Please submit using this link.

We welcome submissions from individuals and groups, staff and students. Proposals will not be peer reviewed for inclusion (i.e. we aim to include everyone who applies) but we shall be working to confirm a finalised programme by 30th May.

We expect the day itself to run in three or four panels, with time for networking in between and afterwards. Refreshments will be provided.

If you have any initial queries, or you would prefer not to be contacted again, do please get in touch with Ed Hollis on e.hollis@ed.ac.uk, who will correspond on behalf of the Cultural Heritage theme advisory group.
