Welcome to the 2024 Festival of Cultural Heritage Research at the University of Edinburgh.

How do, and could, we connect with and re-produce the past in the present? How might we do so in and for the future?

This festival will explore how historians, archaeologists, architects, social scientists, anthropologists and makers are reframing what was once thought as conservative as a radical and experimental field.

Based in St Cecilia’s Hall between 15th and 20th April, a programme of talks and discussions, workshops and handling sessions, as well as a running exhibition of posters, artefacts, and experiences will help you, as a researcher at any career stage, to make new connections, ask new questions, and explore new opportunities.

This event is generously supported by the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences research themes initiative, Edinburgh Global, the Edinburgh Research Organisation, and Una Europa.
