I'm pleased to let you know that following successful trials, the Library has been able to purchase two new digital newspaper archives. Expanding our already extensive collection of digital newspaper archives from the UK and around the world.

Following a successful trial the Library now has a subscription to Brill's Bibliography of the History and Archaeology of Eastern Europe in the Middle Ages. A fundamental source of information for the study of the history and archaeology of medieval East Central and Eastern Europe, the bibliography aims to encourage further research, but also to provide guidance through an enormous amount of information available in a variety of languages and a great multitude of publications.

I'm happy to let you know that after a successful trial last year the Library now has access to 2 Brepolis databases: Monumenta Germaniae Historica and Archive of Celtic-Latin Literature.

These can both be accessed from the Databases A-Z list and DiscoverEd.

I'm happy to let you know that over the summer the Library purchased two digital archive collections that will be of interest to students and staff looking at gender and sexuality studies, Archives of Sexuality and Gender: International Perspectives on LGBTQ Activism and Culture and Sex and Sexuality: Research Collections from The Kinsey Insitute Library and Special Collections.

*The Library has subsequently purchased access to Archives of Sexuality and Gender: Inernational Perspectives on LGBTQ Activism and Culture, British Library Newspapers Part VI: Ireland, 1783-1950, Financial Times Historical Archive 1888-2021 and The Mirror Historical Archive, 1903-2000. These can be accessed via the Databases A-Z.*

During the summer the Library was able to purchase two Gale primary source databases to add to our collections: U.S. Declassified Documents Online and The Telegraph Historical Archive, 1855-2016. Because of this, Gale have offered us free long-term trial access to 7 more of their digital primary source databases through their Gale Accelerate programme.

Thanks to a request from HCA staff the Library has recently purchased U.S. Declassified Documents Online from Gale. This database provides immediate access to a broad range of previously classified federal records spanning the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

This offers you access to a huge range of primary sources covering social, cultural, political, scientific and religious perspectives, from the 15th to early 18th centuries.

Thanks to a request from staff in Classics the Library now has access to Vetus Latina Database from Brepols. This is an online index to all Greek and Latin patristic citations or allusions to the pre-Vulgate editions of the Bible, collected by the Vetus Latina Institut in Beuron, Germany.
