The co-leadership structure (three co-directors, Work Package leads and advisory committees) is designed to increase resilience of this complex team and to increase its adaptability. GroundsWell brings together diverse researchers – the team includes world-leaders in complexity science employing systems-thinking and methodologists to effect change; data scientists harnessing emerging data platforms and analytics ; health, social and environmental psychologists helping understand our behaviours; health, social and environmental economists considering costs and benefits ; political scientists exploring power and participation; urban planners and landscape architects advising on planning and environmental design issues ; lawyers and anthropologists debating issues of contested spaces ; clinical and non-clinical scientists understanding links between natural environments and health; social scientists informing understanding of diverse communities; health geographers understanding issues of inequalities and access; and, arts-based practitioners and journalists aiding in dissemination and sharing of ideas.
