About us
The Global Health Academy is a vibrant, evidence led academic community and interdisciplinary hub. Our Global Academies at the University provide multi-disciplinary responses to advancing global issues.
We showcase, support and help enable global health research, learning and networks – advancing the University’s global ambitions and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We need science as well as compassion to deliver the SDGs – compassion is the glue that holds these goals together.
Our Distinctive Approach
The Global Health Academy is particularly concerned with:
- Better health for all: We focus primarily on health issues affecting the greatest number of people worldwide – these people typically live in low and middle income countries (LMIC).
- Interdisciplinary work: For meaningful impacts, interdisciplinary approaches are increasingly recognised as fundamental to how we must approach research, education and action.
- Collaboration in all spheres: Breakthroughs in global health will be forged through partnerships and working with communities.
Together we make change
As a global network of collaborators we work to improve global health through collaborative interdisciplinary research, education and resource development. Visit our website to learn more, including how to join our network
