New to the Library: Online Egyptological Bibliography (OEB)

I’m happy to let you know that following a successful trial last semester the Library has now got a 1 year subscription to the Online Egyptological Bibliography
from the University of Oxford.

The Online Egyptological Bibliography (OEB) holds the largest available collection of references in Egyptology literature, with coverage from 1822 to the present.

You can access OEB via the Databases A-Z list.

OEB is the successor of the print resource Annual Egyptological Bibliography (AEB) and OEB includes the records and abstracts from AEB (1947-2001), combined with Bibliographie Altägypten (BA, 1822-1946), the Aigyptos database with keywords, as well as thousands of recent and older items that have been entered directly into OEB. By default the system searches the entire OEB database, including abstracts (where available), and displays the most recent result first. Look under “User information” for help and guidance on how to search the database.

You can access the database via the Databases A-Z list or in the Databases by Subject pages (Archaeology, Classics, History). It is listed under its full title, Online Egyptological Bibliography. You can also access it via DiscoverEd.

Access is only available to current students and staff at the University of Edinburgh.
