Throughout 2026, the Edinburgh Medical School 300 project will mark 300 years of medical education at the University of Edinburgh. It will explore Edinburgh’s history in shaping modern medicine, highlight Edinburgh Medical School’s community and set the stage for future innovations in medical education and healthcare.

Edinburgh has always been at the heart of public health: our students and alumni have shaped modern medicine. Today, Edinburgh Medical School trains healthcare professionals and research scientists to respond to the health challenges of our time and is home to one of the strongest research communities in the world.
