This blog has been following the commemorations of the bicentenary of the enactment of the Civil Code of the State of Louisiana of 1825. A recent event worth noticing was the presentation at the Louisiana Supreme Court of a special issue of the Loyola Law Review, containing the eleven presentations sponsored by the Bicentennial Committee of the Louisiana Supreme Court Historical Society. For the contents, see: Loyola special issue
A brief ceremony, followed by a reception, involved the presentation of a copy specially bound in the maroon of Loyola to the Chief Justice of Louisiana, John L. Weimer, by the Dean of the Loyola Law School, Madeline Landrieu.

Dean Madeleine Landrieu of Loyola New Orleans College of Law is at the podium with Professor Monica Hof Wallace (also of Loyola) holding the volume being presented to the Louisiana Supreme Court.

Associate Justice Cade R. Cole, Associate Justice Jefferson Hughes, Associate Justice Piper D. Griffin, Dean Madeleine Landrieu, Chief Justice John L. Weimer, Associate Justice Jay B. McCallum, Professor Monica Hof Wallace, Justice John Michael Guidry, Associate Justice Allision H. Penzato (Pro Tempore)
Readers of this blog may be interested to note that some of the papers delivered at L.S.U. last March are starting to appear in the Journal of the Center of Civil Law Studies. When more information is available about other relevant publications, the blog will note them.
The blog thanks Georgia Chadwick for help with this entry.
