Updated post  18 April 2025

Based on the previous installation design and layout, I refined the structural details and created a new spatial simulation tailored to the exhibition venue.

1.Venue Layout

For the spatial layout, I drew inspiration from Zen-style interiors, which often feature low seating and floral arrangements. The entire space is designed to reflect a strong Zen aesthetic, symbolizing a focus on the present and inner peace.

2.Installation Production Outline
  • Objective: Create an immersive and relaxing experience through the interaction between breathing and the installation.
  • Main Components:
    • Breath Interaction Device (Interactive Element)
    • Main Installation (Form & Materials)
    • Lighting System (Breathing Light & LED Decorations)
  • Visual Style: Light, transparent, and organic, seamlessly integrated with auditory elements.

For the installation, the current idea is to sculpt a lung-shaped shell using resin, with a light source placed inside. Above it, we will create flowers using wire and plastic materials.

Here are some reference images, depicting plants growing on an abstract lung shape. This sketch was drawn by Hefan—lovely work!

4.Venue Setup

The final venue setup will be determined once the location is confirmed. I have emailed Jules regarding the venue, but he hasn’t responded yet. I plan to follow up with him in person during next Tuesday’s class.

Once everything is finalized, I will proceed with purchasing the materials as soon as possible, considering that some items may take a long time to ship. Before making any purchases, I will also confirm whether invoices can be provided.
