Gaidinliu Arrested

A portrait of Gaidinliu, taken in Puilwa village, on October 17, 1932. Probably taken at the time of Gaidinliu’s arrest by Captain MacDonald. From the Hutton Collection, Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Cambridge.

 

Gaidinliu in Yimrup

Portrait of Gaidinliu taken in January 1948 in the village of Yimrup by anthropologist Charles Robert Stonor. Gaidinliu lived in Yimrup for ten years after her release from prison in 1947. Donated to the Pitt Rivers Museum in 1969.
