This Volunteering Opportunity Changed My Life—You Need to Try It!

This volunteering opportunity changed my life, try it
The Common Futures Conversations, a flagship of Chatham House. They had flighted an advert calling for applications for their 2022 cohort and you know what, I applied.
Fast forward January 2022 I received an email that confirmed my offer as a member. Just a click to accept and I changed my story. Today as I write this, I am a testament of how this volunteering opportunity opened doors including my current accolade as a Mastercard Foundation Scholar. Volunteering with Common Futures Conversations, a flagship initiative by Chatham House, was a transformative experience that deepened my understanding of global issues and elevated my aspirations as a changemaker. This program brings together young people across Africa and Europe to discuss pressing policy challenges, from climate change to economic inequalities, empowering us to contribute solutions rooted in our lived experiences.
Through this platform, I engaged in meaningful dialogues with experts and peers, exchanging ideas that shaped my perspectives on policy and governance. I had the opportunity to contribute to discussions that emphasized youth-led solutions, amplifying my voice on global issues through publishing an article on improving health screening. The experience not only enhanced my critical thinking and advocacy skills but also helped me realize the power of inclusive policymaking in driving sustainable change.
This volunteering opportunity has inspired me to continue amplifying youth participation in global decision-making processes. It aligns perfectly with Chatham House’s vision of fostering dialogue to solve complex global challenges and has equipped me with the tools to apply these lessons in various spheres of my life.
To think I can benefit alone from this program saddens my soul. So, I urge you to look out for applications on this link
