The idea for Annie’s Creative Asset sprang from Arundati Roy’s view of the Covid-19 pandemic as a chance to imagine another, better world. At the same time, during the Currents Course Annie became concerned with the issue of child poverty in Scotland. She came across information that “the number of children living in poverty in Glasgow would fill the Armadillo entertainment venue 12 times”. In her Creative Asset Annie connected this harrowing statistic with her area of concern in the context of the global pandemic, aiming to emphasize the local importance of the problem.
